Our goal is to help the marginalized community with access to basic human needs ( water, appropriate clothing, hygiene products and food ), harm reduction / minimization, and assurance of safety ( through crisis intervention, peacekeeping, safe walks, and search parties ).
A 3-season weekly service where we patrol our marginalized neighbourhoods and partake in an overall clean up, safe harm reduction, minor medical support (if needed) and provisions of basic needs (food, water, clothing, hygiene). This is also a great opportunity for us to interact with some of our relatives who are simply in need of engagement and conversation.
A weekly service where our youth, our volunteers, and the community members collectively gather in order to provide our shelter-less relatives with a warm quality meal, weather appropriate clothing, special treats, and other donations. We also tailor our meal service based on the holidays and festivities.
We host a variety of programs for the youth that are designed to address their needs while simultaneously peaking their interests. Many of these programs are highly beneficial to the development of their independence skills, and their overall well-being. This includes, but is not limited to, home economics, physical fitness, Aboriginal school of dance, indigenous cultural activities, arts/crafts, land-based activities, and more.
A program about fatherhood for men to offer support to one another. It is also an opportunity enhance parenting skills, break down barriers and negative stigmas that are associated with being a young father, reformed father, recovered father, single father etc. Our focus is the attachment piece between parent and child but also the fact that there is strength in vulnerability but also in solidarity.
Our indigenous-influenced group will walk beside, support, and advocate for the community of Winnipeg, as our goal is to help people from all walks of life. Reinforced by our belief in Lateral Love, Lateral Empathy, and Lateral Unity, we hope to encourage an abundance of Compassion, Camaraderie, Positivity, and Altruism for everyone we engage with.
